Deerfield, IL (Dec. 2009). United Stationers Supply has enhanced its
Mid-Market Visual Planner to facilitate easier office layouts with the furniture
available in the Mid-Market Furniture Catalog.
Nearly 500 “Typicals,” or preconfigured layouts for workstations, executive
offices, etc., have been added to the product library, making it faster and
easier to present multiple, alternative designs to a customer. A salesperson
can now simply incorporate pre-built, U-shaped configurations from different
manufacturer collections into a design in a single step.
The Typicals feature saves time by providing only furniture manufacturer
product choices that exist for a particular configuration – for example
“peninsula.” Visual Planner’s new Text Tool provides formatting choices that
enable dealer salespeople to add item numbers or a furniture collection name to
a drawing, or personalize work areas with multiple workstations for presentation
to a customer. In addition, text can be positioned anywhere within the plan-view
of Visual Planner.
Upgrades in the Visual Planner quote page provide salespeople with additional
flexibility in working with product information including item numbers,
descriptions, selected finishes, and more. For example, existing furniture in a
space can now be visually represented in 2D and 3D drawings while reflecting
necessary adjustments on the quote page.
“When a customer is considering the purchase of office furniture, their
decision is easier when they can visualize items in a 3-D and top-down drawing,”
said Henry Seals, The Orange Stationer Inc., Orange, Tex. “It makes it easier
for them to visualize their project and commit to the furniture.”
